I can hardly believe we are about to post our festive issue of Stitch That and that I am designing for Christmas as we speak. I think this year has gone past so quickly – they say as you get older time goes even faster!
My wonderful team at Iconnet have been beavering away in the background creating a beautiful E-catalogue which will be viewable on my web site very shortly. It even includes video! What ever next?
I thought you would like to see some of the projects in Issue 82 of Stitch That – this is the magazine that our CSG members receive five times a year. If you want to become part of this amazing stitching community, just go to Join Us and find out more.

Festive Initials
I know that many of you enjoy using decorated initials when creating your own gift cards so I have produced the complete alphabet as an initial chart. In the picture above, you can see that I have chosen some random letters to make three very different Christmas projects.

Blackwork Arch
My husband, Bill, and I had a visit to the Alhambra Palace in Granada earlier this year and it was such an inspiration place – It was difficult to know where to start. I think I took over 100 photographs during our six hour stay. I have used some of our faux ivory buttons and an old mirror frame.
Will be in touch again shortly. I am now packing up ready for Creative Stitches & Hobbycrafts at Westpoint, Exeter 23-26 September. I will hope to see some of you there next week. Happy stitching till then.

Bill, my husband and I have just returned from a wonderful trip to Russia – you will see more of this in later issues of our magazine, Stitch That. I am designing and scribbling about the trip as I write. Issue 77 has been mailed and should be with you shortly – some of you have already been in touch so I know it is out there.

Faux Ivory Magnetic Needle Token
We have been busy sourcing new things for this autumn and I think we have found yet another winner! Our Faux Ivory Magnetic Needle Tokens are ready at last! You have no idea how many types of magnets are available and how complicated it gets. Hand crafted for us here in Gloucestershire, these attractive and practical Tokens have a magnet embedded inside and can be worn as a brooch or attached to your frame or chart board and then you can pop your needle on the surface for safekeeping. We have six designs available now with at least three more in the pipeline.

Token holding scissors in place

Using the rear magnet to hold as a brooch
I thought those of you who have not as yet succumbed to Membership might like to see snippets of what is on offer this time. Every issue of Stitch That includes new designs with colour pictures and clear computer originated charts and it is sent to Members of the CSG five times a year.
Strawberry & Little Bird Chatelaine
This project includes a pinkeep, needlecase and scissor holder all tied together with a strip of linen band. Full stitching, making up and hemstitch instructions are included

Christmas Welcome Door Hanger
Created from a complete set of initials included in this issue – large initials are always very popular with our Members who create amazing personal projects. This set of letters have been combined with holly and Christmas roses to create very festive effect
Beautiful Borders Band Sampler
This long band sampler is stitched on linen aida and has a few additional counted stitches to add interest and texture to the design. After months of the very challenging Silverwood Sampler, I felt it was time to tackle a band sampler with less taxing techniques.

I am sorry I have been absent from my Journal for so many weeks- I cannot explain all the the reasons but suffice to say, all is well here at Pinks Barn (touch wood) and I am very grateful for all the emails and messages asking if all is well. There have been computer and internet problems, I have had the flu (not swine so far!) and was left with a beastly post viral syndrome which left me somewhat lack lustre and quite unable to work. My mother, who understandably, was left devastated by my father’s death last year, has finally been found somewhere lovely to live and is being cared for by the greatest team and my mother in law has recovered from her ghastly fall and seems almost back to normal. Biggles, the baby Beardie is almost clean and dry and now only eats Laura Ashley cushions as an attention seeking device!
With luck and a forward breeze, I am back at my desk with lots of new products to load on to the web site and ideas bursting forth all over the place. Issue 76 of Stitch That with Jane Greenoff is with the printers and will be with Members very shortly. I am going to spend today adding new things to the shop and will be back here again very soon.
Happy stitching
Jane

I am so sorry that I have been out of touch lately - this is the beginning of a new phase here at Pinks Barn, CSG HQ. We have certainly had rather a torrid time of it but not all of it has been so bad - Biggles is growing in to a wonderful dog and is full of mischief and affection in equal parts. I think, perhaps, he plans to go mining when he grows up or perhaps he is digging an escape tunnel. There are big holes in the garden! Bumble is not setting a very good example as he just watches with an enormous smile on his face and then hides when the balloon goes up!

Breaking through to the sunshine -that really is the dust in the air
Talking of large holes, I thought you would like to see the one in the front of Pinks Barn - you will be able to see the end result very shortly. It has made such a difference to the main sitting room here – I am now able to stitch in the sunlight – not possible before, but the dust -Oh dear- it was simply everywhere, both upstairs and down. Roger and Phil made a marvellous job – not an easy one as the wall was nearly 2.5 feet thick in places and our bedroom had to be supported on props until the oak beams were in position.
Issue 75 of Stitch That has been posted and I know that many of you have already received your copies – I can tell by the post in our letter box and by email -I am hopeful that we will have caught up with our backlog soon and Issue 76 will be out in the middle of June and September will be on time!
Happy Stitching
Jane
