,br />* One of the projects in the next edition of Stitch That! – to be posted on Monday the 7th April. *The name for this project came from the wonderful floodlit woodland walks held at Westonbirt Arboretum during the winter months. I was always fascinated by the stories of Hansel and Gretel and the ideas of a gingerbread house with a wicked witch! * One of the projects in the next edition of Stitch That! *This design is really a steal from a set of pictures that were on the wall in a small vineyard in Spain. Many of you will remember that Bill & I spent some time with our friends on their olive farm near Seville (Issue 61 Stitch That). During the long weekend, we were invited to visit a small organic vineyard, wander through the vines, and have lunch where a considerable amount of wine was “tasted” This project was the result of that glorious day! Love Always Patchwork Sampler

* One of the projects in the next edition of Stitch That! *This project was inspired by a sampler I spotted whilst visiting The Spirit of Christmas Show at Olympia (Homes & Gardens magazine) last year. The original sampler was framed in a limed oak frame and was made up of stitched pieces and sections from an old damask quilt. It also cost £350! I thought it was charming but just too much money. I came home and drew out the idea that evening and here you see the end result. A quick note about the postal arrangements for your resub gifts as we have had a couple of people query the way the parcel has arrived. Since the beginning of charging by proportion by the Royal Mail, we have discovered that if we pack the needle box in two pieces with the scissors under the foam, it costs 48 pence to post. If we post the box complete, it becomes packet rather than a letter which I know looks nice when you open it but costs over £1.00 in stamps! I am sure you appreciate that if we do this, it would costs the CSG in excess of £5000 a year!

Pearl Wedding Anniversary

I thought you would like to see this picture. Bill and I are holding a stitched card and envelope! One of our Cross Stitch Guild members, Hazel Anderson sent this in time for our Pearl Wedding Anniversary. When I opened the post box, I thought some stitching had fallen out of an envelope. You can imagine my amazement when I realised that the stitched envelope actually was stamped and had come through the post! Many thanks to Hazel and is she going to start a trend?
