Further to conversations with Members today, if anyone  has any doubt as to the reality of our broadband situation, and one can see that this could stretch a person’s credulity, please contact the Phone Coop on 0845 4589004. I suggest you talk to the Chairman, Mr Vivien Woodell, who I am sure will be happy to explain why we are in this appalling situation!

Happy stitching

STILL no broadband – what can I tell you?

I hope those of you who are Members of CSG have received your latest Stitch That magazine at last! I am pleased with it but sorry you had to wait so long. I will be attempting to load the current pictures but with dial up this is very difficult. I am on the final checks on the Pattern Book, that should have been out before Christmas, so hopefully we will be back on track very soon.

I will not bore you about our broadband access, but it has made updating the web site a nightmare and I know that lots of you have had trouble getting through on the phones….. Thank you for bring so sweet about it

Today I want to kill the man from Open Reach, everyone at the Phone Coop and anyone else who comes near me.

It now transpires than I do have broadband on one of the phone lines, but no-one can tell me (1) who put it there (2) How it got there (3) what the access codes are (4) and how I can use it in spite of paying the Phone coop for the service and (5) WHEN IS THIS GOING TO BE SORTED OUT…………. I seem to be back where I was six weeks ago. This afternoon, I am going to sit and stitch in the hope that my sanity returns and my family see the return of a human being! Happy Stitching

No broadband but a wonderful puppy!

dscn2074.JPG     dscn2059.JPG

I am afraid we are still without our broadband internet connection . The Phone Coop tell us it could be another 2 weeks! I have been tempted to cut my losses and run to another supplier but having invested this long, I want them to sort this out. As a result of this,I am keeping updates to the web site on the short side – it takes so long using a dial up connection. If when you phone we are engaged, it is either the dial up being used to answer your emails or Biggles has tahen the phone of the hook again! He is coming along well, not yet potty trained yet but such a brave and affectionate creature. We all love him. Bumble, our senior dog, is getting used to him and there is no doubt that the puppy worships him!

Bill and I spent today at the trade show in Birmingham looking for new products and meeting with our suppliers. I have ordered some really good scissors  from Italy and some beautiful linen from Zweigart – I will add the pictures as soon as I can.

To all our Members -We are going to be mailing your delayed Issue 74 at the end of the month and the CD Rom Book is also well on its way. We have persuaded Ethan, our graphics designer to include his picture in this issue of Stitch That as we thought you should see he is the real thing and is burning the midnight oil to complete these projects.

I have planned my linen classes here at Pinks Barn and will possibly add more dates when things settle down a little. Please go to Events and Classes for more details

Why I have not updated lately!

I am sure some of you must be wondering if I am playing with the puppy all the time and not doing any work! I am afraid this is not the case and that the truth is that we have been without broadband here at Pinks for 4 weeks today and I heard tonight that the Phone Coop will not be able to put things right till the 11th February.  This is all to do with the Tiscali/ 186K row and we were somewhere in the middle. Whilst it was being sorted a mistake was made at the Phone Coop when our supplier was changed and we have been left high and dry since then.

I have now a temporary dial up connection but it is simply not possible to keep the web site up to speed using this type of line – I can only say how sorry I am.  I will keep up with your emails and orders every day, but it does mean that the phone may be engaged if you use the Freephone number. If you have to leave a message I will get back to you. I know that we all hate answering machines, but all you need to do is say your phone number!

Keep stitching and I will do the same – hopefully it will keep us all sane

With all good wishes Jane

Bill and I drove to North Wales this weekend and collected our baby Beardie, Biggles who is simply delicious! He smells of chocolate and is a very brave little boy. I am not sure how Bumble feels yet……..
