The packing has started!
It is at this point you wonder why you do it!
I am off to the NEC at Birmingham (England) on Wednesday morning to set up for the Festival of Quilts – probably one off the most beautiful of the consummer shows held inthe UK. I am not a quilter (I dare not start another hobby!) but many of my customers are able to multitask and look for me at this event.
The Flowery Mead
One of the new designs ready to display is The Flowery Mead – finished at last! This started life only half the finished length and for a day class here at Pinks Barn – and like Topsy it just grew. Those of you who started this project with me earlier in the year should receive your updated charts etc over the next few days. If you don’t just email me and I will post when I get back from the NEC.
A detail from the sampler
The Flowery Mead is now available as a complete kit including the charms, buttons and hand dyed threads. The design when completed is 21 inches long excluding the optional hem

Stitch That Issue 86
Members next Stitch That magazine is at the printers and will be posted out on Monday next with luck and a following breeze. This means that Issue 87 in September will be our Festive magazine and I shall lighting fires and putting up the tree in August for Christmas photography!
Last weekend, Carole Weighill and I were trapped in the Hilton Hotel in Leicester for our Together we Stitch weekend and laughed for two days. I was glad to be away from the news and the awful things going on in Norway- Our thoughts go to all our Norwegian Members at this ghastly time.
Twenty eight guests joined us for a really enjoyable weekend in this excellent hotel. As always, the staff could not have been more helpful and the food was very good indeed. We will be asking the hotel for dates for 2012.

I had worked a new band sampler called A Flowery Mead which was a great success and I am now working on some Stitching Accessories based on this design. I will let you know when these are available.
My son, James, was home recently before jetting off to meet his wife in Italy for three weeks holiday and he took some more lovely pictures of Bumble. I thought you would like to see this one

Ummmm! On the sofa!
I'm so jealous I couldn't be with you. Glad you all had a good time.

We are joining our wine tasting friends at a beautiful olive farm in the Sierra Norte about an hour from Seville and I know I am gloating! Boy ! Do we need a few days to collect ourselves and I will be taking stitching with me……

The front cover of Issue 86 Stitch That
I spent yesterday playing stylist and props person whilst Paul from Viewpoint took all the photos for your next issue of Stitch That. We had such a nice day but you would not have recognised Pinks Barn! What a muddle….. We make little sets in various parts of the house looking for a certain feel to the pictures. That means that things are borrowed from other rooms and furniture is moved about to make room for all the lights and power packs and other things that seem essential. Bill arrived home to complete chaos at 6pm and we had started photography at 8.30 in the morning. Anyway, this means you should have Issue 86 this month and we might even be on schedule for the September issue to be in September……Ho Hum…
Oh thats lovely - looking forward to it x
